OgaRent Technologies Limited ("OgaRent", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect from Landlords and Tenants, why we collect it, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, dashboard, and tenant portal (together, the "Service").

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

• Account information — name, email address, phone number, and password, provided when you register.
• Property & tenancy information — property addresses, unit details, rent amounts, and tenancy dates entered by Landlords.
• Payment information — virtual account details, transaction amounts, timestamps, and reconciliation status. We do not store card numbers or bank login credentials; payments are processed by our licensed banking partner.
• Usage information — log data, device and browser type, and pages visited, collected automatically when you use the Service.
• Communications — messages you send us, and records of automated SMS, email, or WhatsApp reminders sent through the Service.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use personal data to:

• Create and manage your account and provide the Service;
• Match incoming rent payments to the correct Tenant and property;
• Send receipts, balance updates, and rent reminders;
• Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud or misuse of the Service;
• Comply with legal, tax, and regulatory obligations, including those of our banking partner and the CBN; and
• Improve and maintain the Service, including troubleshooting and analytics.

4. Legal Basis for Processing

We process personal data where necessary to perform our contract with you, to comply with a legal obligation, on the basis of your consent (for example, for marketing communications), or where we have a legitimate interest in operating and securing the Service, in each case consistent with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.

5. Who We Share Information With

We share personal data only where necessary, with:

• Our banking/payments partner (e.g. for Nomba virtual account issuance and settlement), to process rent payments;
• SMS, email, and WhatsApp providers, to deliver reminders and receipts;
• Landlords, who can see the ledger, payment history, and contact details of their own Tenants, and vice versa for receipts and balances relevant to the Tenant's own tenancy;
• Regulators or law enforcement, where required by law; and
• Service providers who support our infrastructure (e.g. hosting), under confidentiality obligations.

We do not sell personal data to third parties.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward to meet legal, tax, audit, and dispute-resolution requirements. You may request deletion of your data subject to these obligations, as described in Section 8.

7. Data Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and role-based permissions — to protect personal data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may request to access, correct, or delete your personal data, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. 9. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect how the Service functions.

The Service is not directed at individuals under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
